Question 1

How fast can someone get out there?

Accepted Answer

These get pushed to the front of the queue because every hour costs money on a wet property. Ring 0494 301 215 as soon as it happens — even if it's after hours, leave a message and we'll get our cleaning partner moving on the extraction and get out to look at the rest.

Question 2

Who does what, exactly?

Accepted Answer

The extraction and drying is done by the cleaning company we work with, because that's a gear-heavy job and they've got the units for it. Everything after that — plaster, skirtings, cabinetry, flooring, painting — is us. One point of contact for the lot, and you're not stuck coordinating four trades once the fans come off.

Question 3

Is this an insurance restoration service?

Accepted Answer

Not for the big ones, no. For a burst hose or a leak that's hit a room or two, we handle it end to end and give you photos and an itemised scope you can send to your insurer. For a large claim, structural drying, or contaminated water, you need a certified restoration company with the moisture logs insurers ask for. We'll tell you which one you're looking at on the first walkthrough rather than start and find out later.

Question 4

My carpet feels dry now. Do I still need anything done?

Accepted Answer

Quite possibly. The carpet dries long before the underlay and the bottom of the walls do, and a subfloor can stay damp for weeks. If the water was more than a splash, or you can smell anything musty, get it looked at. It's a lot cheaper than replacing a wall in a month.

Question 5

Can you deal with the mould as well?

Accepted Answer

Surface mould on hard surfaces, yes. Where mould has got into plasterboard, insulation or carpet backing, that material comes out and gets replaced — it can't be cleaned back to safe, and we won't pretend otherwise. If anyone in the property has asthma or a respiratory condition, tell us early because it changes how we approach it.

Question 6

How long does the whole thing take?

Accepted Answer

Drying is usually three to five days depending on how much water there was and the weather. Repairs run from a day for one room to a couple of weeks where flooring and multiple rooms are involved. We'll give you a realistic timeline at the quote, including the waiting time, so nobody's ringing on day four wondering why the fans are still there.
