Question 1

How often should it be mowed?

Accepted Answer

Through spring and summer most lawns around here want it fortnightly, and a fast-growing kikuyu lawn with irrigation on it can want weekly. Through winter, monthly is usually plenty. We'll suggest a cycle after the first cut rather than locking you into something that doesn't suit the lawn.

Question 2

Do I need to be home?

Accepted Answer

No, as long as we can get in. Most of our regular properties we've got side gate access to and the owner's never there. If a gate's locked, tell us where the key lives or leave it unlocked on the day.

Question 3

What if it rains on my scheduled day?

Accepted Answer

We push it to the next available day rather than cutting a saturated lawn, because a mower on wet grass rips it and leaves ruts. You'll get a message rather than being left wondering.

Question 4

Can you do a one-off before an open home?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it's worth timing it properly. Two or three days before the photos or the open home is the sweet spot — long enough for the cut lines to settle, not long enough for it to grow back.

Question 5

Do you take the clippings?

Accepted Answer

Included as standard. On larger blocks we'll sometimes suggest mulching back in instead, which is better for the lawn and cheaper for you, but that's your call.

Question 6

Our house is only a few years old — what actually needs maintaining?

Accepted Answer

Presentation rather than repair, mostly, and that's what nearly all our Jordan Springs work is. Newer stock means very little structural work, but rendered walls, driveways and paths mark quickly, courtyard gardens get away from you fast, and gutters fill faster than people expect for a new estate because of how heavily the estate is planted.

Question 7

Why do new-estate gutters fill up so fast?

Accepted Answer

The estate planting and the wetland corridor. Jordan Springs was landscaped densely from the start, and those trees are now mature enough to drop properly, so gutters here need clearing on a similar cycle to a much older suburb despite the houses being new. We photograph what comes out so you can see it wasn't a wasted visit.

Question 8

Do you work on the community common areas as well as private blocks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The master-planned layout means substantial shared parks, paths and landscaped areas, and we do community-association and strata grounds work alongside private homes — often on the same round, which keeps the cost down for everyone.
