Question 1

Is there a minimum job size?

Accepted Answer

No. Small jobs are the point of this service. If travel makes one tiny item uneconomic on its own we'll say so and suggest batching it with anything else on the list.

Question 2

What if the job needs a licensed trade?

Accepted Answer

We'll tell you before quoting. Electrical, plumbing, gas and structural work goes to someone licensed. We don't take work we shouldn't be doing, and we'd rather lose the job than do it badly.

Question 3

Do you design it, or do I need to know what I want?

Accepted Answer

Either. Plenty of people ring with a problem rather than a solution — the bins look terrible, the side gate doesn't shut, there's nowhere to put anything in the garage. We'll come out, look at it and suggest options. If you already know exactly what you want, even better.

Question 4

Can you match existing timber and finishes?

Accepted Answer

Usually. Standard profiles are easy, older profiles sometimes need machining or a close match, and some things aren't obtainable any more. We'll tell you which of those you're dealing with before you commit, along with what the compromise would look like.

Question 5

How long is the wait?

Accepted Answer

Depends on what's in front of it and whether materials need ordering. Ring us and we'll give you a real date rather than a vague one. If we can't do it in the timeframe you need, we'll say so.

Question 6

Why do quotes vary so much between Werrington County properties?

Accepted Answer

The curved 1970s street layout here produced a lot of irregular blocks — battleaxes, wedge-shaped rear yards and awkward side access. Two houses on the same street can be quite different jobs for mowing, gutter access or getting a load of green waste out. It's why we'd rather look at it or see photos than quote off an address.

Question 7

Our fencing and gates are original — worth repairing or replacing?

Accepted Answer

Depends what's actually failed. A gate that keeps dropping usually has a post that's moved rather than a hinge that's worn, and replacing the hinge again is money spent on the same problem. Timber that's soft through the middle is past repair. We'll tell you which one you've got and price both options rather than defaulting to replacement.

Question 8

Do you cover the whole of Werrington County?

Accepted Answer

The lot, plus Werrington Downs and Cambridge Gardens next door. If you're right on a boundary, ask anyway — the suburb line rarely makes any difference to what we charge.
